WHAT IS PACKRAFTING?
Packrafting is a relatively new sport. A hybrid between backpacking and rafting that allows you to experience unspoilt nature at its finest. A packraft is a light weight inflatable boat that fits into a backpack. Perfect for crossing lakes, rivers and streams as part of a longer route on foot or bike. Whenever your hiking trail gets interrupted by water, simply fill the packraft with air and continue the adventure by packraft.

When you get down by the water you easily inflate the packraft with the special inflation bag. You scoop air into the inflation bag, similar to a fat boy air chair, and press the air into the raft. You go out with just your backpack, including packraft, paddles, food, water and some spare clothes. All your other belongings stay in your tent at basecamp.
You start with a hike or bike ride of a few kilometers. The route you follow via an app on your phone. Once you get down by the river you inflate your packraft and continue your trail by water. Make sure to stop in time to enjoy a nice view and a well-deserved lunch. Once back at basecamp you can enjoy a hot shower, dinner and a drink by the campfire.
Packrafting originates from Alaska where packrafts are mostly used to cross large bodies of water in the wilderness during hikes or bike routes.
Bikerafting is a combination of biking and packrafting. You simple strap your bike to your raft when continuing by water. This gives you the ability to travel longer routes.

Yes, certainly! If your dog is sporty enough to walk +/- 14 km per day and loves water, he will have the time of his life! Once in the raft your dog can best sit or lie between your legs. It is required that you put shoes or sturdy socks on your dog so that the nails do not damage the raft. You can bring them yourself or rent them from us for €5 a day.
Note! Please bring your own tent. Dogs are not allowed in our accommodations.
